CIANO’s South Sudan operations are a cornerstone of our company, highlighting our ability to deliver high-quality services in some of the world’s most challenging and complex environments. This project is a testament of reliability, logistical precision, and unwavering commitment to global standards.
From Retail to Full-Service Catering
The journey began in June, 2015 when we were awarded our first PX (Post Exchange) contract. Initially operating at 3 locations, Tomping, UNHouse and Wau. In January 20217, the contract was expanded to include two additional locations: Bentiu and Bor. We were then successfully re-awarded the current contract in July 2020, during which Malakal was added as a new location. Rumbek PX was opened in September 2024.
Building on the trust and success of our PX operations, we expand our footprint into Catering services. The first contract was awarded in 2015 and operation began January 20216 at Tomping with 4 locations (Restaurant, Tukul, Plan B and Movcon). In June 2020, we were awarded a new contract (our current one), expanding the scope of services to include Tomping (2 locations), UN House (2 Locations) and the field offices of Aweil, Bor, Bentiu, Malakal, Rumbek and Torit.
Actually, we are managing 6 PX locations (Tomping, UNHouse, Wau, Bentiu, Bor and Malakal) and Catering (Tomping, UNHouse, Bentiu, Bor and Malakal) transforming the dining experience for international personnel through professional kitchen management and a focus on nutritional excellence.
Our Greatest Asset: A Global Workforce
The success of our South Sudan mission is driven by a diverse and highly skilled team. We currently employ 100 professionals who bring a wealth of international experience to the project:
- 80 employees are dedicated to our catering operations.
- 20 employees manage our PX retail services.
Reflecting our global identity, our workforce is composed of 13 different nationalities. This multicultural constructive collaboration is not just a point of pride; it is a strategic advantage that allows us to manage high-profile institutional environments with sensitivity and expertise.
Mobilization Excellence & Quality Assurance
Our approach in South Sudan is rooted in the same “Mobilization Excellence” that defines our global brand.
We bring this same level of agility and rigor to South Sudan:
- Safety & Compliance: We implement strict HACCP plans and food safety protocols to guarantee premium standards from day one.
- Logistical Resilience: We maintain secure supply chains even in remote areas, ensuring that quality is never compromised.
- Institutional Reliability: Our ability to manage complex services in high-security environments has made us a trusted partner for international organizations.
Today, our South Sudan operation stands as a model of how culinary excellence and logistical efficiency can thrive together, creating the foundation for long-standing and successful partnerships.
