MILESTONES

1885

CIANO was founded in Livorno, Italy, as a naval supplier. For many years, it operated with innovative services, providing supplies for cruise ships and ferries.

1998

The company landed in Albania with services supporting the Italian Embassy.

1999

The company started its operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina supporting the EUFOR mission. Began activities in Kosovo supporting KFOR, where it is still active today.

2001 - 2009

CIANO started its activities in Afghanistan, initially supporting ISAF, then ANHAM, and later the UNAMA Mission, where it is still active today.
The company opened its first activities in Lebanon, where it is still active, as a supplier for the US and Portuguese government missions and for the Unifil Mission.
Began operations in Iraq supporting the US mission.
CIANO arrived in Morocco supporting the MINURSO mission.

2010 - 2011

CIANO opened its services at Catania International Airport. CIANO started its activities at the University of Pisa – Campus i Praticelli.

2012

The UNFICYP Base was opened in Cyprus.

Began activities in the Netherlands for ICC – EuroJust.

2014

Started operations in Belgium supporting the European Commission activities. Operations are still active, also serving the Committee of the Regions and ULB from 2024. Began operations in the Offshore sector for ENI.

2015

CIANO opened its activities in:

  • Central African Republic supporting the MINUSCA mission.
  • Uganda and Congo supporting the MONUSCO mission.
  • Somalia supporting the UNSOS mission.
  • South Sudan supporting the UNMISS Mission, where it still operates today.

2020

The company expanded its activities in Kosovo with the new MSU Carabinieri base.

2021

Following the return of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, CIANO, with the help of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, successfully rescued over a hundred people belonging to Afghan employee families, who were brought to Italy and received by Pope Francis.

2022

CIANO started its activities at the FAO palace in Rome, where it is still active today.

2023

Operations began at the UNGSC base in Brindisi.
